The first facility built on the Union Square Campus, a $34 million nursing education facility in downtown Greensboro, opened Friday, August 5. The building features a 350- seat auditorium, mulitple classroom and lab spaces, informal study and common areas, and a state-of-the-art simulation lab.
The building is a collaboration between the city of Greensboro, Guilford County, the state of North Carolina and several private local foundations that helped to pay for the project. The building’s four main tenants — UNC-Greensboro, N.C. A&T, Guilford Technical Community College and Cone Health — pay rent.
Kahler Slater designed the building in partnership with Moser Mayer Phoenix Associates.
