The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) celebrated the Grand Opening of their Great Expansion on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Hundreds of guests, including many dignitaries, turned out for the ceremony which included speeches and public tours of the new building. STEGH is a 166 bed Community Hospital located in St. Thomas, Ontario, about 20 miles south of London. Kahler Slater partnered with the Toronto architectural firm Montgomery-Sisam on this Ministry of Health-approved Redevelopment Project that includes a complete replacement of the hospital's ED, Surgery and Central Processing departments plus a new 17-bed Mental Health unit. Kahler Slater also updated the hospital's existing campus masterplan to help them prepare for future replacement and growth on their site. STEGH has been recognized for their operational improvement work with great results in ED wait time and flow.
