Meriter Health Services Opens New DeForest-Windsor Clinic

Meriter Hospital hosted an open house at their new DeForest-Windsor Clinic on Thursday, August 18. Guests and our own Kahler Slater team toured the beautifully designed new facility which offers primary care (including internal medicine, pediatrics and family medicine), obstetrics and gynecology as well as physical and rehabilitation therapy services, imaging and lab services.

With their vision of “creating extraordinary experiences for our patients in settings that promote teamwork and patient-centered care”, Kahler Slater created a design which allows for maximum flexibility – especially to accommodate busier times. Other considerations to promote teamwork and collaboration include locating nurse work areas adjacent to shared provider offices, rather than private offices. These multi-provider offices will have striking views to the outdoors to take full advantage of the area’s stunning native meadowlands.

Technology also adds to a welcoming patient experience. From an electronic medical record system, to an interactive website to pre-register for appointments and participate in the management of their own care, to the option of registering with staff or self registering at automated kiosks upon arrival, patients, families and staff have the latest technology to maximize efficiency during their appointments.

The new clinic is designed with sustainable design principles to achieve certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System offered by the U.S. Green Building Council.
