Brandon Maxwell, AIA, LEED AP 
Associate Principal, Architect, Project Leader

Brandon is an accomplished and recognized project leader with a focus on healthcare design. With a passion for helping rural clients overcome challenges they face in providing care to their communities, he serves clients in our Mid-Atlantic market. Brandon brings over 17 years of experience and has a proven track record of efficient and thorough time and project management, from design conception through construction administration with attention to quality and detail. Brandon’s notable project work includes the new Grant Memorial Hospital Cancer Center and he is currently engaged with Valley Health in Winchester, Virginia on several important projects, including a new outpatient Behavioral Health Services facility.

Chris Kline, AIA, CDT, LEED AP
Associate Principal, Architect

Chris is a talented Project Architect and plays an important role serving our Higher Education and Cultural projects across the US and Canada. Chris is known for his strong organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities. He is often sought out by his team members for his knowledge of technology and constructability. Chris has extensive experience coordinating design drawings for large-scale higher education, civic, and cultural projects and is currently engaged with the Milwaukee Public Museum on their Future Museum project. He previously served as Project Architect on the award-winning Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Bradley Symphony Center

Ed Dueppen, RA, CSI, CCS, LEED AP
Associate Principal, Lead Architectural Specifier

Ed is Kahler Slater’s Lead Architectural Specifier. A skilled architect with over 30 years of experience, he serves a pivotal role at our firm working closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure all materials, products, and systems for a project align with the overall design intent and project goals, while meeting code requirements, cost, and sustainability considerations. A few of Ed’s notable project work includes UW-Madison’s Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center, Hospital Sisters Health System St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Women and Infants Center, and the National Cancer Centre in Singapore. 

Josh Derginer, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Associate Principal, Architect

With over 10 years of industry experience, Josh is a highly valued team member, serving our healthcare clients across the country.  Throughout his career, Josh has worked on a variety of project types including healthcare facilities, commercial office buildings, science and laboratories, and athletic facilities. He is known to consistently deliver innovative solutions to complex projects and meet our client’s strategic goals. His recent project work includes the new Mayo Clinic Health System La Crosse Hospital and the SSM Health Sun Prairie Medical Office Building and Ambulatory Surgery Center which is expected to be completed this year.  

Peter Bissen, RA
Associate Principal, Project Architect

Peter is an experienced Project Architect that serves our Residential clients across the US. Peter has personally managed over 3,100 residential units from design through construction. His strengths are working with our disciplinary teams to manage, design, and build residential projects at multiple scales. Peter is passionate about helping clients achieve specific sustainability goals such as Net Zero and Passive House Certifications. His recent projects include The Springs developments by Continental Properties and he is currently working on a Net Zero apartment complex in Oak Park, IL. 

Zach Frush, AIA, LEED AP 
Associate Principal, Architect

As an Architect on our national Healthcare Team, Zach serves clients around the country. He brings over 20 years of experience specializing in leading the documentation, engineering coordination, and construction administration of large-scale healthcare environments. He is passionate about sustainable design principles and has an expertise in design technology that he applies to all our projects. Zach played a key role in the Hospital Sisters Health System St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Women and Infants Center and new Mayo Clinic Health System La Crosse Hospital. He is currently engaged with Sentara Halifax on their new Regional Hospital
