On March 16, 2018, Eric Mayne, AIA, Associate Principal, Ambulatory Care Expert, Designer, and Kailee Kofal, MBA, Essentia Health, presented on Team Based Transformation: Developing a Care Provider Team Model and Designing the Ideal Space to Deliver Care at the Wisconsin Medical Group Management Association’s Annual Conference.
Essentia Health has transformed the way they deliver health care in rural communities. A fresh delivery method has been developed which has improved quality of care, while meeting other challenging aspects of rural healthcare delivery. A ground up rebuilding of staffing strategies, care delivery systems and a new operational model has created new ways of working in new environments that provide much greater operational efficiencies.
This ambulatory care re-boot and subsequent new operating system will allow Essentia Health’s eastern division, headquartered in Duluth, Minnesota to extend its geographical reach and the populations it serves. This is part of the Essentia Health’s bigger picture business strategy for finding new opportunities to bring Health services to new communities.
