With the goal to create best-in-class academic, athletic, and recreational facilities which are flexible, functional, efficient, and sustainable, Kahler Slater was engaged by the Division of Facilities Development to complete a “road map” for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Recreation and Athletic Facilities Master Plan (RAMP).
The RAMP design committee was tasked with conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the University’s existing recreation, kinesiology, and athletic facilities. The goal was to provide recommendations for design strategies for the future planning, enhancements, and prioritization of Towers Field, Governors & Crest Courts, Bollinger Fields, Simpson Field, McPhee-Olson and Hilltop Center.
Based on a comprehensive evaluation of the programs’ current and future needs, Kahler Slater proposed a number of additions and upgrades including bleachers and other upgrades to Simpson Field. At Hilltop Recreation Center, the plan recommends additional spaces for functional fitness, weight training, cardio training, group exercise, locker rooms, a multi purpose room, classrooms, administrative offices, and a café.
