Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants and Chicago Street Holdings selected Kahler Slater to lead the design for the brand’s first hotel in the state of Wisconsin. Kimpton’s main goal was to amplify the charm of the city while maintaining their signature amenities, service and feel.

The resulting 158-room, luxury boutique hotel features an eight-story building that includes Rivoli, a chef-driven restaurant on the ground floor. The exterior of the building takes its cues from the surrounding historic district, and extends to the vibrant street life. In addition to many chic indoor spaces designed in collaboration with Warren Redd, the Journeyman includes Milwaukee’s most exclusive rooftop bar, The Outsider.
