The new “Women and Infants Center” commitment to its community by creating a curated experience for patients and providers that enhances quality and care. This curated experience was designed through a highly collaborative process that engaged hundreds of physicians, staff, and patients. The 5-story greenfield replacement hospital and ambulatory center horizontally connects specialty clinics to corresponding diagnostic clinical areas on each floor, supporting efficient operations for subspecialty providers. On the third floor of the Ambulatory Center, women’s specialty and subspecialty providers connect to the inpatient birthing program. The Labor and Delivery rooms were designed to enhance the birthing experience through relaxation and customization. Laboring mothers can leverage hydrotherapy tubs provided in each room, nitrous oxide, aromatherapy, and positioning aids. Birthing services includes Triage Assessment rooms, LDR rooms, Antepartum-Postpartum rooms, a Well-baby Nursery, two private Special Care Nursery rooms with sleeping and bathing accommodations for parents, C-Section ORs, education and counseling services - all in one continuous flow. The community has embraced this curated experience and St. Elizabeth’s has seen a dramatic increase in birthing volumes.
