In order to realize their vision of providing a professional educational program to prepare future nurses, the College of Nursing at Sam Houston State University required an expansion to their Woodlands Center facility. Kahler Slater provided programming, planning and design for a build out which included simulation labs, debrief areas, faculty offices, support space and classroom space. The simulated hospital and clinical environments were updated to include the latest technology and provide flexibility to allow for multiple tracking scenarios. Special care was taken to integrate accommodations for the advanced nursing program, including private standardized patient rooms and work stations for graduate students. Modular office space was designed to provide faculty support areas to be both flexible and adaptable to future trends in officing.
Kahler Slater partnered with BRW Architects on this project.
