Valley Health and Mary Free Bed partnered to expand their best-in-class rehabilitation medicine program to meet their growing community need. The current program increased from 30 beds off campus to 50 beds on campus, with additional outpatient support and program centrally located on campus. Outpatient rehab service lines will support Adults, PEDs and Physiatry Therapy Programs.

This project was driven by the following goals:

• Be regarded as the Rehab Hospital of choice in Virginia
• Grow both inpatient and outpatient services offering a full continuum of care for current patients and future market growth
• Increase efficiency of space by designing an improved flow throughout and craft efficient operations to utilize the space
• Create a facility with state of the art spaces and technology to allow for the care of a greater number of patients and families

Kahler Slater's innovative approach enhances the patient experience through design, combining expert therapy strategy, state of the art equipment and processes for the highest standard of healing. Programming included full progression of care for current patients and to foster future market growth as The Healing Destination of Choice with flexibility for improved flow effecting efficient operations and maximized space utilization. The merging of varied technological devices and equipment combined with proven techniques achieve an advanced and innovative center for healing.
