Kahler Slater was honored to partner with Milwaukee’s oldest congregation, Immanuel Presbyterian Church, on a significant renovation and addition to their parish. The goal of the project was to provide additional space for the church to provide opportunities to belong, learn, grow and serve with their community, while maintaining the historic nature of the landmark building.
The project included a demolition of a 1950’s building in order to make way for a significant expansion to the church. The expansion provided additional areas for a new educational space, a covered entrance and a conference center, as well as several parking spaces. Renovations to the original church ensured the rich history of the building was maintained and celebrated. Key to the project success was ensuring the church remained operational through the entire design and construction process to allow for services and church operations.
