The Opportunity Center's primary goal is to make sports and fitness accessible to everyone regardless of race, gender, age, level of experience, ability or disability and intends to generate money through regional sports tournaments and membership support. The new $80 million facility will focus on sports, education, mentorship, tutoring, and learning. The 300,000 square foot facility will include classrooms, indoor basketball courts, a 300-meter running track, swimming pool, fitness center, and outdoor soccer fields and is designed to make programming accessible to those with physical and developmental disabilities.
Kahler Slater partnered with The Opportunity Center to develop initial test fit concepts. Over the next few years, the client is seeking to raise grants and donations to fund the project’s construction with the hope of the center opening in 2025.
