The Richard E. Maslowski Glendale Community Park is the first step in transforming a former landfill into a multi-generational civic and sports complex. These facilities are the first phase of a collaboration between the City of Glendale and the Nicolet Union High School District of Glendale. The school district expects to expand the park by designing, maintaining and funding two softball fields and a regulation baseball field.
The new five-acre park includes a community room, an inclusive family playground, facilities for local high school and recreational sports teams, locker rooms, food service facilities, restrooms and storage space. An amphitheater provides a home to the community’s concert series as well as other music and theater performances. Other amenities include a veterans’ memorial, and the Sprecher Brewing Outdoor Oasis beer garden and plaza.
Kahler Slater served as lead designer for the community pavilion building, in partnership with Rettler Corporation.
